Let us be the answer to “What can we do different?” when planning your next event that needs an impressionable attraction.

Scaly Creatures

In this exciting program we unravel some of the mysteries about reptiles. As in our other programs, our main goal is for the kids to have fun while they learn about some of the animals we share our planet with. It is very hands on and interactive.

We have lots of new, exotic, reptiles to share with the kids. We play games, have fun quizzes and team games. We also give out prizes to all the kids, throughout the program. The kids get to choose one of their favorite Reptizoo animals to have their photo taken with. On the last day we hand out their photos and a piece of reptile skin as a souvenir. We show different animals in this program from our Wacky and Wonderful Animals program.

Wacky and Wonderful Animals

There are other large animals that can be added. We have sulcata tortoises from Africa, 50-80lbs! We can also bring a larger Burmese python, 14 plus feet long! Ask about our Alligator Snapping Turtle.

Reptizoo also offers Small Animal presentations which include a small snake, lizard, turtle, salamander and/or frog as well as a rabbit, dwarf hamster, Guinea pig, Chinchilla and maybe a hedgehog.
Again, this can be a hands on experience for all!

If that’s not enough, Reptizoo also offers Creepy Crawler presentations and we bring an assortment of Amphibians, Arachnids and insects. This is a fascinating look at these misunderstood animals.

“When we first started working in senior homes, about 25 years ago, I was a little skeptical. I remember one home in downtown Toronto in particular. I pulled up and started unloading the boxes and I got more then a few dirty looks. There was a
Woman in a wheelchair, she had just turned 100. She warned me to stay away from her and even the mention of a snake and she would be gone. Fast forward to an hour and a half later, I had to practically wrestle her to get the 9 foot python back from her! Seniors love what we do and our gentle approach gains our audiences trust and with that trust we all, together, have a wonderful experience.”

Take note, the senior in the picture is my mother at her residence. I did an event at her residence and the room was filled! In the testimonials there is one from the person who co-ordinated our visit. This photo was taken the next day. My mother had a life long fear of snakes and the day after my visit she called me and said she was ready to try and hold a snake.
Your never too old!

“We have had great success with this population and certainly find visits are very rewarding both for the participants and for us. There are some Centers that we visit annually and I can barely get through the door because of the enthusiastic greetings and many questions. It is obvious how much these visits mean to them!

Even those who are unable to speak communicate their excitement with their eyes or movements. This hands-on experience brings everyone together. There is lots of laughter and big smiles all along. Holding or touching a snake for the first time provides a great boost to self-esteem. As always, we have a relaxed approach and we certainly don’t push participants to touch or hold the animals. We encourage those that are trying and we take the time to help them”.

Our Mission

We have been in business for almost 30 years and it has beeen a roller coaster ride. We have learned a lot and our objectives haven’t changed all that much. Our main objective is to keep working hard to deliver quality presentations that you can depend on. Running a little mobile zoo has given us the opportunity to focus entirely on the one activity. Delivering an educational and entertaining show!

Pat Benattar and Heather Proud began with a small assortment of reptiles back in 1994. They worked tirelessly at delivering shows while at the same time raising their three young children. Today, they focus on training, coordinating and developing educational programs while their animators deliver the show.

What do we see for the next 30 years for Reptizoo? Pat and Heather have been visiting the jungles in Central America for 20 years and they are bringing their experiences into the classroom with creative programming. We here at Reptizoo aim to encourage the children to be thoughtful about all animals and the environment.

Testimonials

Another wonderful birthday party experience provided by Reptizoo! Our animator, Catherine, was friendly, knowledgeable and patient, and made sure kids of all ages felt included. Grownups present learned a lot too! Most of Reptizoo’s animals are rescues, and they are very obviously very well cared for as they fulfill their mission of educating kids and instilling them with a love for small creatures.

Thank you Reptizoo!

-Ricardo

My students loved it and the rest of my classes are eager to see them. A welcome visitor in these uncertain times!

Science Teacher, Rosemere High School

Raffael had been talking about wanting a Reptizoo birthday party for months, following a lunch time class at his school. When the pandemic hit and we knew an in person party wouldn’t be possible, I went on the Reptizoo website and low and behold, we could have one virtually. And it was fantastic – Raffael and his friends were thrilled.. Pat was fantastic with the kids and they got up close and personal with the reptiles, spiders and of course, Snowball ! A highly recommended birthday party!”

Pat and his employees have been great at engaging my students during every one of their visits. Their presentations always entertain and educate the kids in my class, and they also allow me to later link components of my curriculum to what they have discussed with my students. I have also had Pat present for my children at my son’s 5th birthday, and they enjoyed being able to see the animals up close. Being able to handle the snakes and turtles was my son’s favourite part, and even my two year old paid attention!

Big thanks to the team at Reptizoo! Not only was communicating and booking simple and easy, they showed up on time and were super professional. You can tell they do this to educate and are passionate about the animals. Their presenter Stephanie was amazing too. She was animated with the kids and informative at the same time. She was able to capture the attention of 10 four year olds easily, and they all listened intently and were very captivated by everything she said. The presentation is very interactive and she takes her time to make sure every single person has a chance to touch or hold the animals. I would 100% recommend this for any kind of event, even the adults were really interested! And the price is very reasonable for the quality and length of the presentation.

-Kathleen

Pat at Reptizoo is an absolute legend at wrangling little people – even a huge group of unruly five year olds – and somehow manages to get them not only excited and engaged, but QUIET and SEATED. Despite our huge group, Pat was able to actually connect with each kid, and teach them a tonne of interesting facts. He also took the time to make the birthday boy feel extra special. It’s clear he enjoys what he does. In planning the party, Pat was friendly, accommodating and easy to communicate with. Can’t recommend Reptizoo highly enough! Thanks Pat!!

-Carolyn

Pat Benattar made a presentation to the residents at James Street in May 2019. It was an amazing and fascinating experience of a lifetime. Pat has an incredible knowledge of his reptile friends. He has a very entertaining way in how he presents the unique characteristics of the various reptiles he showcased. Pat is an engaging presenter. He encourages us to connect with the reptiles and through this, we were able to appreciate these living creatures and their contribution to life on our planet, past present and future. I highly recommend his presentation and I am confident you will enjoy him as much as we did!
